Lebih lanjut, laporan penelitian akan berisi kutipan-kutipan data untuk memberikan gambaran penyajian laporan tersebut. Data tersebut mungkin berasal dari naskah wawancara, catatan lapangan, foto, video tape, dokumen pribadi, catatan atau memo, dokumen resmi dan lain sebagainya. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif kerena bertujuan untuk menguraikan perencanaan, proses dan penilaian pembelajaran kurikulum 2013
Waktu dan Tempat Penelitian
Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SD Negeri Bantul Timur, Kabupaten Bantul, Yogyakarta. Penelitian dilakukan pada salah satu kelas ujicoba yaitu kelas IVB. Pertimbangan pemilihan lokasi penelitian dikarenakan sekolah tersebut ditunjuk sebagai sekolah uji coba terbatas kurikulum 2013. Adapun waktu penelitian dilaksanakan mulai pertengahan April hingga akhir Mei dengan penelitian terfokus pada satu tema dan satu subtema pembelajaran
Subjek Penelitian
Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik sampel bertujuan (purposive sampling), yakni peneliti memilih subyek/obyek sebagai unit analisis. Pemilihan SD Bantul Timur dikarenakan SD Bantul Timur merupakan sekolah yang ditunjuk sebagai sekolah implementasi ujicoba kurikulum 2013 sehingga seluruh komponen yaitu guru, siswa, kepala sekolah, sarana prasarana dipersiapkan dalam melaksanakan ujicoba tersebut. Penelitian ini difokuskan pada kelas IV dimana anak sudah mampu berpikir secara abstrak dan telah memahami konsep abstrak tersebut sehingga seharusnya akan lebih matang jika diajak berdiskusi, menalar, berpikir kritis, menyelesaikan masalah secara kelompok dalam implementasi proses pembelajaran dengan pendekatan tematik terpadu. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti memilih satu dari 3 kelas pada kelas IV paralel. Pemilihan kelas ini didasarkan pada kemampuan guru dalam mengelola alat, sumber, dan media pembelajaran, salah satunya penggunaan teknologi, informasi, dan komunikasi.
