Timbulnya permasalahan parkir pada badan jalan yang tersebar dibeberapa lokasi yang belum ada fasilitas areal parkirnya, berakibat buruk terhadap kondisi lalu lintas, terutama saat kendaraan melakukan manuver keluar parkir. Hal ini dapat menyebabkan kemacetan lalu lintas bahkan berpotensi dapat terjadi kecelakaan lalu lintas. Salah satu ruas jalan utama di Kota Mejayan Kabupaten Madiun yang sebagian badan jalannya digunakan untuk parkir kendaraan adalah Jalan Ahmad Yani.
Kendaraan saat melakukan manuver keluar dari parkir membutuhkan banyak waktu, apa lagi manuvernya berbalik arah sehingga berakibat tertundanya pengguna jalan lain baik yang searah maupun berlawanan arah serta menimbulkan konflik lalu lintas dengan pengguna jalan lain.
Tujuan dari penulisan ini adalah untuk mengetahui akan tingkat pengaruh kegiatan parkir dan tingkat konflik akibat adanya manuver parkir pada badan jalan terhadap kecepatan kendaraan, dimana pengaruh manuver yang menjadi fokus dari penelitian ini.
Dari hasil analisis konflik lalu lintas dan tingkat kecelakaan pada lokasi studi dapat diketahui dampak dari manuver kendaraan yang melakukan kegiatan parkir terhadap keselamatan pengguna jalan sehingga diharapkan penulis mampu memberikan rekomendasi penanganan guna mengurangi dampak tersebut dengan memberlakukan pola parkir sejajar dengan badan jalan untuk mengurangi konflik dan mengurangi potensi kemacetan lalu lintas akibat dari adanya pergerakan manuver kendaraan yang parkir.
