Struktur sel anakan memiliki dua tipe, yaitu gundukan (cluster) dan semisisir (semicomb) (Gambar 7c). Berdasarkan Sakagami et al. (1983), struktur pintu masuk sarang pada stingless bees tidak dapat dijadikan patokan untuk identifikasi spesies. Hal ini dikarenakan pintu masuk sarang dapat berubah sesuai situasi dan kondisi lingkungan tempat stingless bees bersarang.
