a. Kinerja Unit Pengujian Kendaraan Bermotor
Berikut ini ditampilkan hasil pengamatan pada jumlah KBWU di kota Palembang:


Dari tabel jumlah KBWU UPTD PKB kota Palembang diatas dapat diketahui bahwa perkembangan jumlah kendaraan bermotor wajib uji terjadi secara fluktuantif dimana yang tertinggi terdapat pada tahun 2013 yakni dengan jumlah KBWU adalah 67.421 kendaraan, sedangkan jumlah KBWU terendah berada pada tahun 2011 yakni dengan jumlah total kendaraan. UPTD PKB memiliki peran yakni memberikan jaminan keselamtan secara teknis, sehingga kendaraan bermotor yang dioperasikan dapat laik di jalan. Sebagai sarana menunjang keselamatan transportasi, pengujian kendaraan bermotor dilakukan secara berkala. Berikut merupakan kondisi dari alat uji yang digunakan UPTD PKB Kota Palembang
b. Standart Keselamatan Angkutan Umum
Sistem Manajemen Keselamatan pada angkutan umum merupakan proses yang komprehensif dan terkoordinasi yang didesain untuk mengendalikan secara langsung sumber daya untuk meningkatkan keselamatan. Trans musi sebagai angkutan umum yang mampu memberikan pelayanan publik yang cepat, aman, nyaman, dan efisien di kota Palembang. Jumlah bus didalam trayek Trans Musi dari tahun pengadaan 2010 hingga 2016 sebanyak 150 bus Trans Musi dari APBD Kota Palembang dan pada tahun 2016 BRT Trans Musi Palembang mendapat bantuan bus tambahan dari Kementrian Perhubungan sebanyak 50 bus Trans Musi yang siap dioperasikan di kota Palembang. Dengan standar kendaraan yang laik jalan untuk dioperasikan di Kolta Palembang.
