Legenda Telaga Pasir - Pada Suatu Hari di suatu tempat di daerah kaki Gunung lawu daerah Magetan Jawa Timur hiduplah suami istri bernama Kyai Pasir dan Nyai Pasir, Mereka adalah sepasang suami istri yang tinggal di sebuah gubung di tepi hutan. meskipun terbuat dari kayu dan beratap dedaunan namun gubuk mungil itu sudah jukup aman bagi kiyai Pasir dan istrinya. dari gangguan binatang liar dan panasnya terik matahari, dinding gubuk itu terbuat dari kulit kayu yang di ikatkan pada sebuah tiang kayu dengan menggunakan rotan. diantara dinding-dinding kayu itu diberi sedikit celah sebagai ventilasi sehingga udara segar dapat keluar masuk kedalam gubuk yg mereka tempati itu.

Kyai Pasir adalah seorang petani ladang dari hasil ladang itulah ia dan istrinya bisa hidup, walaupun dengan hidup seadanya. ladang milik Kyai pasir terletak di tepi hutan, tidak jauh dari tempat tinggalnya, suatu hari, lelaki tua yg mulai renta itu berangkat keladang dengan mebawa sebuah kapak untuk membabat hutan dan hendak membua ladang baru di dekat ladang miliknya. ketika hendak menebang selah satu pohon besar, tiba-tiba Kyai Pasir melihat sebuah telur besa ter geletak di bawah pohon yang hedak ia tebang itu.

Haaa... telur binatang apa ini gumamnya dengan heran dan kyai Pasir sangat penasaran melihat telur besar itu. dan diambilah telur besar itu seraya diamatinya.
