Hukum internasional sebenarnya meru

Hukum internasional sebenarnya merupakan hukum yang sudah tua usianya. Semenjak zaman Romawi dahulu kala telah ada suatu jenis hukum yang kini disebut “hukum internasional”. Adapun istilah yang tertua tentang penyebutan hal itu ialah istilah “ius gentium” , yang kemudian diterjemahkan menjadi “volkerrecht” dalam bahasa jerman, “droit de gens” dalam bahasa Perancis , dan“law of nations” dalam nahasa Inggris.
