Suatu hari di pagi yang cerah. Kancil berjalan pelan disebuah kebun jambu air. “Hmm..ranum sekali jambu air itu, aku jadi ingin memetiknya, tapi kelihatannya pohon jambu itu tinggi sekali yaa”. Kancil mengeluh karena pohon jambu air tidak bisa ia panjat.


Tiba-tiba muncullah si monyet sambil bergelantungan di pohon jambu. “Hai kancil, sedang apa kamu disitu” tanya si monyet. Ternyata monyet tidak kenal dengan semua jenis pohon kecuali pohon pisang kesukaannya. “Aku lagi menunggu pohon jambu air ini berjatuhan” kata si kancil.
