The beginning of Real Madrid started when football was introduced to Madrid by academics and students of the Institución libre de enseñanza in it including some graduates of the University of Oxford and University of Cambridge. They founded Football Club Sky in 1897 which then often played football regularly on Sunday mornings at Moncloa. The Club was then split into two, namely in 1900: New Foot-Ball de Madrid and Club Español de Madrid.[7] the latter Club split again in 1902 which later resulted in the formation of Real Madrid Football Club on March 6, 1902.[2]
Then King of Spain Alfonso XIII
three years after its Foundation, in 1905, Madrid FC captured the first title after defeating Athletic Bilbao in the Copa del Rey final. The Club became one of the founding members of the Football Federation of the Kingdom of Spain on 4 January 1909, when Club President Adolfo Meléndez signed the basic agreement is the establishment of the Football Association of the Kingdom of Spain. With some reason, the Club then moved to Campo de O'Donnell in 1912.[8]

in the 1920s, the club name was changed to Real Madrid after Alfonso XIII of Spain allowed the Club to use Real words — which means the Kingdom — to the Club.[9]
League in 1929, Spain is founded. Real Madrid leads the League's first season, until the last game, but it was surprisingly defeated by Athletic Bilbao, who leads the title already won, almost certainly captured by Barcelona.[10] Real Madrid finally won their first La Liga title in the summer of 1931 — 32. Real then successfully defended his title the next year and became the first Club to Spain won La Liga twice in a row.[11]
on April 14, 1931, the advent of the second Republic of Spain caused the Club lost the title back to Real Madrid Football Club named. Soccer continued during the second world war, and on June 13, 1943, Madrid defeated Barcelona 11-1 in the second leg of the semi-final [12] of Copa del Generalísimo, the Copa del Rey has been renamed in honor of General Franco. It has been suggested that players Barcelona intimidated by the police,[13] including by the Director of State security who "allegedly told the team that some of them only played because of the generosity of the regime in allowing them to stay in this country."[14] the Chairman of Barcelona, Enric Piñeyro, was attacked by fans in Madrid.[15]
Santiago Bernabéu Yeste and success in Europe (1945 – 1978) Alfredo Di Stéfano and
Ferenc Puskás.
Santiago Bernabéu Yeste was elected President of Real Madrid in 1943.[16][17] under his leadership, Real Madrid then managed to build the stadium Santiago Bernabéu and the practice of clubs in Ciudad Deportiva was previously damaged by the civil war in Spain. In 1953, the Club then began to build a team by bringing in foreign players, one of them was Alfredo Di Stéfano.[18]
Alfredo Di Stéfano, led the Club to win the European Cup five consecutive (at this time, the League Champions)
in 1955, based of the idea proposed by the French sports journalist and editor of L ' Équipe Gabriel Hanot, Bernabéu, Bedrignan,, Gusztáv Sebes and created a football tournament experiment by inviting the best clubs from all over mainland Europe. The tournament then became the basis of the UEFA Champions League which takes place at the moment.[19] the Santiago Bernabéu Yeste

under the guidance of Bernabéu, Real Madrid established itself as a major force in football, both in Spain and in Europe. Real Madrid won the European Cup five times in a row between 1956 and 1960, among them 7-3 victory over Germany's Club, Eintracht Frankfurt in 1960.[18] after the fifth consecutive success, Real permanently awarded the original Cup tournament and earn the right to wear the UEFA badge of honour.[20]
Real Madrid won the Champions League in 1966.
Real Madrid went on to win the European Cup for a sixth time in 1966 defeating FK Partizan 2-1 in the final composition of the team entirely made up of players and Spain, as well as being the first time in the history of European matches.[21] this team was later known by the nickname "Ye-ye". The name "Ye-ye" came from the "Yeah, yeah, yeah "chorus in The Beatles ' song entitled" She Loves You "after four members of the team posed for Diario Marca dressed daily in typical Beatles wigs. Generation "Ye-ye" also managed to become the second Champions Cup champion in 1962 and 1964.[21]

in the 1970s, Real Madrid won the League Championship as much as 5 times with 3-time winner of the Cup Spain.[22] Madrid then plays on its first UEFA Cup Winners ' Cup final in 1971 and lost by a score of 1 – 2 from United Kingdom Club, Chelsea.[23] on 2 July 1978, Club President Santiago Bernabéu died while the World Cup is underway in Argentina. FIFA then sets out three days of mourning to honor him during the tournament.[24] the following year, the Club held a Championship Trophy Santiago Bernabéu as a form of homage to the former President.
Quinta del Buitre and seventh European Cup (1980 – 2000)
at the beginning of the 1980s, Real Madrid is like losing his grip on the League and it took them a few years to get back to the top through the help of some new star. The success of the new star is then called by Spain's sports journalists as an era generation La Quinta del Buitre ("five of the Eagles"), which is derived from the name of el buitre ("the Eagles"), a nickname given to one of Madrid's players at the time, Emilio Butragueño. Other members were Manuel Sanchís, Rafael Martín Vázquez, Míchel and Miguel Pardeza,. With La Quinta del Buitre (later reduced to four members when Pardeza left the Club and Miguel moved to Real Zaragoza in 1986) and notable players like goalkeeper Francisco Buyo, right Defender Miguel Porlán Chendo and Mexico striker Hugo Sanchez, Real Madrid managed to rise up and have the best strength in mainland Spain and Europe in the second half of the 1980s. The result is also quite significant: they managed to win two UEFA Cups, five league titles in a row, one cup of Spain Spain, and three Super Cup Spain. In the early 1990s, La Quinta del Buitre officially parted ways after Rafael Martín Vázquez, Míchel and Emilio Butragueno, left the Club.
in 1996, President Lorenzo Sanz appointed Fabio Capello as coach. Although his tenure only lasted one season, Real Madrid managed to become champions of La Liga through the contribution of Roberto Carlos, Predrag Mijatović, Davor Šuker and Clarence Seedorf who helped the local players such as Raul Gonzalez, Fernando Hierro, Iván Zamorano, and Fernando Redondo. Real Madrid then add ammunition with the arrival of Fernando Morientes in 1997. Waiting them for 32 years to be successful again in Europe, finally ending up in 1998 under Manager Jupp Heynckes then successfully qualified for the UEFA Champions League Final and defeated Juventus 1–0 thanks to a goal from Predrag Mijatović.
Era of Los Galácticos (2000 – 2006)
Beckham and Zidane is considered "Galácticos".
in July 2000, Jose Pérez was elected Club President.[25] he pledged in his campaign to erase the Club's debt of 270 million euros and modernize the facilities of the Club. However, the major election promises which prompted Pérez to victory was the signing of Luís Figo.[26] the following year, the club got a training site rezoned and used that money to begin assembling the famous Galáctico side including players such as Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo, Luís Figo, Roberto Carlos, Raúl, Fabio Cannavaro and David Beckham. It is debatable whether the gamble pays off, because even though the UEFA Champions League and the Intercontinental Cup win in 2002, followed by the League in 2003, the Club failed to win a major trophy for three the following season.
