Kini pemerintah mengeluarkan kebijakan low cost green car (LCGC), namun pada Juni 2013, Presiden Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY)-Boediono mengeluarkan kebijakan yang saling kontraproduktif, yaitu memutuskan menaikkan harga BBM guna menghemat konsumsi BBM dan mengatasi kelebihan beban APBN.
