Dalam menunjang pertumbuhan tanaman unsur hara yang terkanudung di dalam tanah atau media yang di gunakan harus mencukupi kebutuhan bagi tanaman yang di perlukan untuk pertumbuhannya, baik itu untuk menunjang pertumbuhan vegetatif maupun maupun bertumbuhan generatif. Jika unsure hara yang terkandung di dalam tanah atau media tidak mampu mencukupi menyupalai bagi tanaman maka pertumbuhan tanaman akan terhambat baik dari segi pertumbuhan generatif maupun dari pertumbuhan vegetatif.
