Piaget's theory of cognitive development that someone looked at as a process in which children actively mebangun system of meaning and understanding reality through experiences and their interactions-interaction (Trianto. 2007: 14). According to Natsir (2004: 6) understanding children's intellectual development is an important part of the efforts of a teacher to make his protégé participant learning. Learners will learn well if given the task in the lesson activities that correspond to the level of his intellectual development. Learners will be hard to learn or practise his duties if the task is beyond his ability level. According to Piaget, cognitive development of individuals through four stages, i.e. sensorimotor stage, praoperasional, concrete operational and formal operational.
