Resolusi adalah keputusan yang diambil oleh suatu badan dalam organisasi internasional dalam hal ini adalah PBB. Resolusi ini tidak mempunyai kekuatan hukum walaupun ada beberapa Resolusi yang cukup otoritatif seperti Resolusi tentang DUHAM. Kedua resolusi yang dikeluarkan oleh Dewan Keamanan PBB. Resolusi Dewan Keamana PBB mempunyai kekuatan hukum, dimana negara anggota PBB harus mengikuti isi dari resolusi yang dikeluarkan oleh DK PBB.
