Tuuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara jumlah industri dan penyerapan tenaga kerja yang ada di kota surabaya, sejauh mana pengaruh jumlah industri terhadap penyerapan tenaga kerja, angka pengangguran dan angka kemiskinan
Hasil analisa menunjukkan bahwa hubungan antara keduanya adalah positif. Jumlah industri yang meningkat setiap tahunnya memberikan dampak yang baik terhadap penyerapan tenaga kerja, yaitu meningkatnya jumlah tenaga kerja dari tahun ke tahu serta berkurangnya angka pengangguran dan kemiskinan yang ada di kota surabaya dari tahun 2010 hingga tahun 2014. Hubungan antara kedua variabel ini diharapkan dapat memberikan dampak yang besar bagi pembangunan ekonomi di kota surabaya. Peningkatan taraf hidup, kesejahteraan dan hal – hal lainnya yang berkaitan dengan pertumbuhan ekonomi di kota surabaya.
