Globalisasi berdampak negatif terhadap kebudayaan lokal, Globalisasi meluas sangat cepat. Globalisasi membunuh kebudayaan lokal, itu sangat benar. Dengan terjadinya arus globalisasi yang tidak dapat dicegah. Banyak penduduk atau warga dari suatu negara lebih mengenal budaya luar dibandingkan dengan budaya negaranya sendiri. Dapat kita ambil contoh adalah negara Indonesia. Di zaman ini budaya-budaya luar dapat dengan mudahnya masuk kedalam lingkungan masyarakat Indonesia. Globalisasi ini cenderung diterima oleh kebanyakan remaja (anak muda) Indonesia. Pada kenyataannya pada saat ini Anak Indonesia lebih menggemari budaya luar dibandingkan budaya negara mereka sendiri. Jika dipersentasekan dari 100% saya menjamin bahwa hanya ada 30% dari 70% sisanya yang masih mempunyai minat terhadap budaya asli mereka. Mereka (remaja Indonesia). Berpikir dizaman globalisasi ini budaya lokal adalah sangat kuno dan ketinggalan zaman. Globalisasi memang sangat baik untuk kemajuan berkembangan negara Indonesia. Tapi globalisasi juga berdampak negatif bagi negara Indonesia. Budaya luar yang terkadang tidak sesuai dengan kebudayaan Indonesia membuat masyarakat penasaran dan cenderung mencobanya.
Sikap masyarakat yang seperti ini sangat mengkhawatirkan, Apalagi dengan banyaknya anak-anak muda yang lebih dominan terpengaruh terhadap era globalisasi. Mereka adalah generasi penerus bangsa yang akan menentukan jalan hidup Indonesia kedepannya. Jika kejadian ini dibiarkan saja tanpa ada pengendalian maka akan sering terjadinya kasus kebudayaan Indonesia yang diakui oleh bangsa asing. Tahun sebelumnya negara kita nyaris kehilangan kebudayaan asli Indonesia seperti Batik, Reog Ponorogo, dan lagu Rasa Sayange yang diakui oleh negara tetangga kita sebagai kebudayaan asli mereka. Kita masih beruntung dunia masih mengakui bahwa kebudayaan itu berasal dari Indonesia asli. Mungkin sedikit yang tahu bahwa salah satu Boy Band korea pernah menyanyikan lagu Rasa Sayange di negara Malaysia yang mereka sangka adalah lagu kebudayaan negara Malaysia, dan pencak silat budaya asli Indonesia juga yang dikira oleh negara Ginseng adalah kebudayaan yang berasal dari negara Malaysia. Bukankah ini sangat menyedihkan ketika kebudayaan asli Indonesia masih belum diakui oleh dunia sebagai kebudayaan asli negara kita sendiri.
