Posisi ibu yang bekerja di luar negeri dalam kurun waktu minimal dua tahun, secara otomatis menjadikan perannya sebagai pengasuh anak di lingkungan keluarga beralih sepenuhnya kepada sang ayah. Proses pengasuhan anak di lingkungan keluarga tentunya tidak boleh terhenti dengan kepergian ibu untuk sementara waktu. Pembinaan karakter anak usia dini tetap harus berlangsung tanpa kehadiran ibu dalam kurun waktu tertentu. Penelitian ini berusaha memberikan gambaran pola pengasuhan ayah dalam membina karakter anak usia dini di lingkungan keluarga Tenaga Kerja Wanita, yang menjadi fokus penelitian ini.
