ABSTRAK

Tanah laterit sering dimanfaatkan untuk menunjang pembangunan infrastruktur bidang transportasi seperti jalan dan oprit jembatan. Penggunaan geotekstil sebagai
bahan perkuatan tanah adalah merupakan salah satu rekayasa geoteknik. Dalam penggunaan bahan geotekstil dan tanah laterit untuk perkuatan badan jalan diperlukan parameter dari tanah laterit dan interaksinya dengan geotekstil. Pada perencanaan dan pelaksanaan pekerjaan di lapangan, parameter kekuatan geser yang digunakan adalah nilai rasio sudut geser antarmuka tanah dan geotekstil. Nilai rasio sudut geser antarmuka tanah dan geotekstil adalah perbandingan nilai sudut gesek antarmuka tanah-geotekstil () dengan sudut gesek internal tanah laterit ().
Penentuan parameter rasio sudut geser antarmuka (/) pada kekuatan geser tanah laterit-geotekstil diperoleh dari uji geser langsung dengan metode ASTM D 3080-70. Tanah laterit yang digunakan adalah tanah laterit yang dipadatkan menggunakan alat uji proctor pada kondisi kepadatan maksimum atau memiliki nilai kadar air optimum. Tanah laterit yang digunakan berasal dari dua lokasi di Provinsi Kalimantan Tengah dibedakan berdasarkan jaraknya yang lebih dekat ke Kota Palangka Raya. Sedangkan jenis geotekstil yang digunakan adalah Geo-reinforcement HRX 250 dan HRX 300.
Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa nilai rasio sudut geser antarmuka (/) tanah laterit Palangka Raya berdasarkan dua sampel jenisgeoteksti yang berbeda dimana pada penggunaan geotekstil woven reinforcement HRX250 (halus) nilai / diperoleh 0,81 hingga 0,90 dan pada geotekstil woven reinforcement HRX 300 (agak kasar) nilai / diperoleh 0,75 hingga 0,77. Nilai rasio / tidak terlalu besar dipengaruhi oleh karakteristik geotekstil yang ditinjau yaitu massa geotekstil, kuat tarik geotekstil dan nilaielongasi geotekstil. Akan tetapi karakteristik dan jenis tanah dapat berpengaruh besar pada nilai / yang dihasilkan.
