Ruang lingkup kegiatan Sentra Mahaki adalah memberikan pendampingan dan fasilitasi kepada para inventor yang ingin temuannya diakui, memberikan sosialisasi tentang berbagai informasi yang berkaitan dengan Hak Kekayaan Intelektual baik dari biaya, proses, penyusunan dan meningkatkan kesadaran peneliti dan masyarakat terhadap pentingnya HKI serta melakukan kajian-kajian yang berkaitan dengan ilmu pengetahuan teknologi.
