Banyaknya bank yang dilikuidasi tersebut memang risiko yang harus ditanggung, yang menyebabkan kerugian bagi bank tersebut. Salah satu risiko yang terjadi dilikuidasi adalah risiko kredit yang tercermin dalam besarnya rasio kredit bermasalah atau Non Perfoming Loan (NPL). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji secara empiris pengaruh bank size, LDR, CAR, pertumbuhan GDP dan laju inflasi terhadap Non Performing Loan pada perusahaan perbankan di Bursa Efek Indonesia periode 2010 - 2012.
Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah perusahaan perbankan di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) selama periode 2010 – 2012 sebesar 32 perusahaan. Berdasarkan teknik pengambilan sampel purposive samping, yaitu teknik dengan pertimbangan tertentu, maka diperoleh jumlah sampel sebesar 31 perusahaan. Alat analisis yang digunakan adalah regresi linier berganda, dimana sebelumnya dilakukan uji persyaratan yaitu uji asumsi klasik.
Berdasarkan dari uji asumsi klasik yang telah dilakukan, tidak ditemukan adanya penyimpangan. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa data yang tersedia memenuhi syarat untuk dilakukan uji regresi linier berganda. Dan dari hasil uji regresi linier berganda menunjukan hasil Bank Size,CAR,Pertumbuhan GDP dan Laju Inflasi berpengaruh signifikan terhadap Non –Performing Loan, sedangkan untuk LDR berpengaruh tidak signifikan terhadap Non- Performing Loan. Prediksi dari kelima variabel tersebut terhadap NPL sebesar 18,2% sedangkan sisanya sebesar 81,2% dijelaskan variabel lain yang tidak diteliti dalam penelitian ini.

Purposive sampling technique based on side, namely techniques with particular considerations, then obtained a total sample of 31 companies. Analysis tools are used multiple linear regression, where previously done test requirements that a classic assumption test. Based on the classical assumptions of the test has been done, not found any irregularities. It shows that the available data are eligible for multiple linear regression test done. And from the results of multiple linear regression test results showed the Bank Size, CAR, growth of GDP and inflation rate influence significantly against Non-Performing Loan, while for LDR influential not significantly to Non-Performing Loan. And of the results of multiple regression analysis of the results showed Bank Size, CAR, GDP Growth and Inflation significant effect on Non -Performing Loan, whereas for LDR not significant effect on Non-Performing Loans. Prediction of the five variables on the NPL by 18.2% while the remaining 81.2% is explained by other variables not examined in this study.
