Konstruktivisme dibedakan dalam dua

Konstruktivisme dibedakan dalam dua tradisi besar yaitu konstruktivisme psikologis (personal) dan sosial. Konstruktivisme personal yaitu berhubungan dengan individu itu sendiri dan teori yang melandasi konstruktivisme personal adalah teori dari Piaget. Sedangkan konstruktivisme sosial yaitu berhubungan dengan kelompok dan teori yang melandasi konstruktivisme sosial adalah Vygotsky.
