Keraton Kacirebonan, Keraton Termuda di Cirebon

Alun-alun terbuka di Jalan Pulasaren, Kecamatan Pekalipan, Cirebon, menjadi area pertama yang menyambut pengunjung menuju sebuah bangunan kuno bewarna hijau. Selanjutnya, Gapura Agung atau Lawang Agung dengan ukiran bahasa Mataram Kuno bermakna Sultan Carbon Kerajaan Kacirebonan menjadi gerbang penyambutan bagi para pengunjung di keraton ini. Inilah Keraton Kacirebonan, salah satu dari 3 keraton yang ada di Cirebon dan merupakan keraton yang termuda.

Keraton Kacirebonan merupakan keraton yang didirikan atas prakarsa Pangeran Muhamad Haerudhin. Dia adalah Putra Mahkota Sultan Kanoman ke-IV yang melakukan perlawanan terhadap pemerintahan kolonial Belanda.

Sejarah dibangunnya Keraton Kacirebonan memang tak lepas dari peperangan yang pernah berkecamuk di wilayah Cirebon. Saat itu, tahun 1670, Belanda mulai memasuki kedaulatan Keraton Kanoman yang dipimpin oleh Pangeran Haerudhin. Hal ini ditentang oleh putra mahkota kesultanan yang tak lain adalah Pangeran Muhamad Haerudhin.

Melibatkan rakyat Cirebon yang mendukungnya, peperangan melawan kolonial Belanda berlangsung setidaknya hampir sekitar 5 tahun. Namun, pada tahun 1696 Pangeran Muhamad Haerudhin berhasil dikalahkan dan diasingkan ke Ambon, Maluku.

Pengasingan tersebut membuat Pangeran Haerudin yang telah uzur tidak memiliki putra mahkota untuk diangkat menjadi Sultan Kanoman. Hal ini dimanfaatkan Pemerintah Belanda secara sepihak untuk mengangkat Pangeran Imamudin yang pro kolonial sebagai Sultan Kanoman yang ke-V.

Namun pengukuhan yang tidak direstui rakyat Cirebon ini membuat peperangan semakin merajalela dan menyebar hingga ke daerah luar Cirebon. Pada akhirnya Pangeran Muhamad Haerudhin dipulangkan guna meredakan amarah rakyat kota yang berjuluk kota udang ini.

Keraton Kanoman yang telah memilih Pangeran Imamudin sebagai pemangku tahta membuat Pangeran Muhamad Haerudhin mendirikan Kesultanan Kacirebonan dengan gelar Sultan Carbon Amirul Mukminin pada tahun 1808.

Menempati lahan seluas 2,5 hektar, Keraton Kacirebonan memiliki Paseban Kulon di sebelah kiri dan Paseban Wetan di bagian kanan keraton. Keduanya berfungsi sebagai tempat penerima tamu dan latihan tari, yakni tari topeng khas Cirebon.

Masuk lebih ke dalam, Pintu Selamat Tangkep di bagian tengah menjadi pintu utama sebelum memasuki gedung utama keraton. Pintu ini hanya dibuka saat upacara khusus atau ketika ada tamu khusus yang berkunjung ke keraton. Sedangkan para pengunjung biasa bisa melewati Pintu Kliningan yang terletak di sisi kiri dan kanan Keraton. Pintu ini juga memiliki makna sebagai bagian dari 2 kalimat syahadat.

Memasuki bangunan utama, Keraton Kacirebonan memiliki warna dengan unsur hijau yang mendominasi 8 tiang sebagai pilar utama menopang bangunan yang terlihat sangat terawat ini.

Bagian serambi keraton atau disebut dengan Ruang Jinem Prabayaksa merupakan tempat dimana sultan bertemu dengan tamu sekaligus tempat diadakannya acara ritual keraton.

Keraton Kacirebonan menyimpan berbagai benda-benda koleksi kuno yang sarat dengan sejarah. Pedang, tombak, sampai alat pembuat jamu atau param yang masih berbentuk batu tersimpan apik di salah satu ruangan di keraton.

Ruangan-ruangan bagian Keraton Kacirebonan menyimpan berbagai benda yang berkaitan dengan keraton serta agama Islam. Kitab dari zaman para wali hingga gamelan menjadi salah satu koleksi kuno yang dapat disaksikan saat berkunjung ke Keraton Kacirebonan yang sangat memikat mata ini.
