The study aims at outlining the efforts of Central Magelang intellectual property (Mahaki) in the development of the creative economy sector through an increase in the number of science-based INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY and technology. These efforts are in line with the National system of research, development and application of technology in Indonesia. According to data of the Ministry of research and technology, there is at least 34 Centers scattered HKI colleges, governmental and nongovernmental organizations in Indonesia. The operations are expected to play a role in socializing, registration and commercialization, is also directly or indirectly play a role also in the development of the creative economy sector, as the sector in Indonesia has good potential. In addition the creative sector of the economy is becoming a priority in supporting the economic development of and contributor to the economy of Indonesia's contribution. This type of research is qualitative method used in data collection is documentary and literary study methods. The qualitative approach was selected to dig deeply into a variety of information about the INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY practices in communities, colleges and local governments as well as the creative economy related things. As a result, an increasing number of the registered INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY and increasing the understanding of the public about HKI while simultaneously providing problem-solving INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY marketing results in creative sectors of the economy.
