Intertextuality is one theory used by the reader to gain significance in the process of reading a literary work. For readers who are dealing with text certainly met with the process of signification. The theory of intertextuality was originally introduced by Julia Kristeva, a researcher from France revealed in (Culler, 1981: 104) that the amount of knowledge that can make a text that has meaning, or intertextuality is inevitable, because each text depends, absorb, or transfigure from the previous text.
