3. Colonial SourcesA team of experts assisting argument in Jambi, a number of sources of the colonial Netherlands cited. Encyclopaedie van Nederlandsch is the first Indie work of Dr. j. Paul (Martinus Nijhoff Publications, 's Gravenhage, 1917). Paul did mention that administratively the island Idols including Afdeeling Jambi. When held against the research archives, Jambi Residency rule, no found the idol in the decision said the colonial Government. Likewise with Paul's comment mentions that the inhabitants of Idols including cultured tribes Bangka. It is definitely a mistake because there is no other evidence to the effect that islanders exposed cultural Idols of Bangka. For comparison here D.G. Stibbe Encyclopaedie van Nederlandsch Indie in 1919 with the same Publisher conveys that the Islanders have Idols of anthropological resemblance and linguistis with inhabitants of Singkep due to close proximity and often visits people to this island of Singkep. Review of scientific studies, the more justifiable Stibbe statement. However this work is not seen by a team of historical study of Jambi. In the use of the Treasury of cartography, the history of Jambi team of researchers mention that in 1922 in Schetskaart Residentie Djambie compiled by the Bureau of encyclopedias in Batavia, a cluster of islands in the region of Residency Idols Jambi. This can not be confirmed, given in 1922 Netherlands Government issued regulations that place the island of Blakang Informed shared Idols into the realm of Onderafdeeling Linga. This decision was published in the Staatsblad van Nederlandsch Indie over het jaar 1922 number 66 (Netherlands Indies State Gazette) and supported by map Residentie van en Onderhoorigheden Riouw. In the study of cartography saw clearly that the layout of the Island cluster of Idols with mercu suarnya is above the boundary line that separates between a Resident of Riau and Jambi Residency and placed in the region of Riau.In 1924, the new rules published in the Staatsblad van Nederlandsch Indie number 201 about the Division of administration of the Resident of Riau Island Idols keep listed the Onderafdeeling Lingam. Similar things happen again when the Netherlands Government overhaul the Administration abolishes Onderafdeling Dis Riau with Seven Island in 1932. Idol island remains a part of the Onderafdeling Lingam which was ruled by a Controller with the position on the island of Penuba. In these regulations, made under the Besluit van Gouverneur Generaal 8 August 1932 number 5 with the attached map, explained that the Idol and the island of Blakang Informed with a cluster of Seven Islands included in the Lingam. This did not change until the formation of the province of Riau in Indonesia Republic Gazette in 1957 the number 78 (map attached). Thus statements of the history of Jambi team resting on cartographic sources do not prove to be true.
