FITRIA. Tinjauan Sistem Pengelolaan Air Lahan Pertanian Rawa Lebak di Desa Pelabuhan Dalam Kecamatan Pemulutan Sumatera Selatan. (Dibimbing oleh Prof. Dr. Ir. Hasbi, M.Si).
Praktik lapangan ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari dan memahami sistem pengelolaan air yang dilakukan oleh petani padi di lahan rawa lebak dalam meningkatkan produksi pertanian di Desa Pelabuhan Dalam Kecamatan Pemulutan Kabupaten Ogan Ilir. Praktik lapangan ini di laksanakan pada 1 Mei sampai dengan 12 Juli 2015, dengan mengamati penanaman hingga pengairan lahan secara langsung di lahan persawahan kelompok tani Sumber Karya.
Lahan pertanian kelompok tani sumber karya merupakan lahan rawa lebak dangkal dengan tinggi genangan air kurang dari 50 cm. Tingginya genangan air pada lahan persawahan ini selain bersumber dari air hujan juga dipengaruhi oleh luapan air sungai ogan. Sistem pengelolaan air lahan persawahan di kelompok tani Sumber Karya pada musim penghujan hanya mengandalkan air hujan sebagai sumber kebutuhan air bagi tanaman padi.
Pada musim kemarau petani yang tergabung dalam kelompok tani Sumber Karya sudah menerapkan irigasi pompa. Irigasi pompanisasi yaitu memanfaatkan pompa air bertenaga diesel sebagai sumber energi untuk menyalurkan air ke petakan sawah melalui jaringan pipa paralon yang telah terpasang di bagian sisi petakan sawah yang di lengkapi dengan keran air. Terdapat dua jenis pompa irigasi yaitu pompa irigasi skala besar untuk mengairi sawah dalam skala besar kurang lebih 25 Ha dan pompa irigasi skala kecil untuk mengairi beberapa petakan sawah saja.
Sarana irigasi pompa yang dibutuhkan untuk mengairi lahan sawah terdiri dari : 1 unit mesin pompa air bertenaga diesel dengan tegangan 12 Volt dan mampu menghasilkan energi sebesar 3,2 kW menggunakan bahan bakar solar. Bak penampungan air berukuran 5 x 5 m. Instalasi pipa dengan dua jenis tipe pipa yaitu pipa UV atau paralon ukuran 6 inchi dan pipa besi ukuran 6 inchi.
Permasalahan yang ditemukan dalam praktik lapangan ini meliputi belum adanya jaringan drainase di lahan persawahan sehingga sangat sulit untuk mengendalikan tinggi muka air lahan. Bangunan irigasi yang tidak lengkap sehingga petani mengalami kesulitan dalam melakukan pengelolaan air lahan di musim hujan. Pintu air yang menghubungkan sungai ogan dengan saluran air irigasi tidak ada yang aktif atau tidak dapat digunakan dengan optimal. Pintu air tidak dapat menahan laju kehilangan air di lahan persawahan saat sungai surut. Pada jaringan irigasi pompa terdapat masalah pada pipa penghisap air yang digunakan yaitu pipa sering mengalami keanginan sehingga dapat menghambat proses pengairan pada lahan sawah.
