Wilayah studi di Kecamatan Mentawa Baru Ketapang memiliki empat kelurahan yaitu Ketapang, Mentawa Baru Hilir, Mentawa Baru Hulu, dan Sawahan. Pada Kelurahan Ketapang terdapat 17 saluran yang dibagi dalam 17 catchment area dimana dari 17 saluran tersebut semua saluran tidak memenuhi dari Q total air maksimum yang masuk ke saluran. Pada Kelurahan Mentawa Baru Hilir terdapat 70 saluran yang dibagi dalam 70 catchment area dimana dari 70 saluran tersebut terdapat 3 saluran drainase yang memenuhi dari Q total air maksimum yang masuk ke saluran. Pada Kelurahan Mentawa Baru Hulu terdapat 44 saluran yang dibagi dalam 44 catchment area dimana dari 44 saluran tersebut terdapat 1 saluran drainase yang memenuhi dari Q total air maksimum yang masuk ke saluran. Pada Kelurahan Sawahan terdapat 19 saluran yang dibagi dalam 19 catchment area dimana dari 19 saluran tersebut terdapat 1 saluran drainase yang memenuhi dari Q total air maksimum yang masuk ke saluran. Banyaknya saluran yang tidak dapat memenuhi Q total air maksimum yang masuk, maka diperlukan beberapa alternatif penanganan genangan itu kolam penampungan, rain harvesting, dan penambahan dimensi saluran. Kolam penampungan pada wilayah studi dapat menampung 58 saluran dengan volume air yang masuk sebesar 319.200 m3. Kolam penampungan dapat mengurangi genangan sebesar 85,90 m3/detik, sedangkan rain harvesting dapat mengurangi genangan sebesar 55,44 m3/detik dan penambahan dimensi saluran dapat mengurangi genangan sebesar 70,62 m3/detik, sehingga ketiga metode tersebut dapat menangani genangan di Kecamatan Mentawa Baru Ketapang.
