Jika dibandingkan dengan ATmega8L perbedaannya hanya terletak pada besarnya tegangan yang diperlukan untuk bekerja. Untuk ATmega8 tipe L, mikrokontroler ini dapat bekerja dengan tegangan antara 2.7 – tegangan antara 4,5 – 5,5 V.
