Letusan pertama terjadi pada tahun 1804, lava merah keluar dari kawah ini dan menuju ke arah sana.
Letusan terbesar terjadi pada tahun 1963, letusannya mengeluarkan lava hitam, lava hitam tersebut turun secara perlahan dan menutupi sebuah desa di bawah sana, semua orang melarikan diri mencari tempat yang lebih tinggi dan membuat desa baru di sana sampai sekarang.
Letusan terakhir terjadi pada tahun 2000, letusannya kecil, hanya mengeluarkan sedikit tanah dan awan.
