Punic War is a war going on between the Roman with Carthage between the years 264 to 146 BC, [1] and is the biggest war in the ancient world. [2] The word Punic own berasar of said Punici, which means Phoenicia in Latin. This war are the result of the desire of the Roman Republic to expand his territory. The intention initially take place without significant barriers (barriers herein means the resistance of the natives) until the end of the Roman Republic faced with the kingdom of Carthage. The battle takes place with the victims in the hundreds of thousands of soldiers. Before the attack the Roman Republic in the first Punic War, the Carthaginian Empire is the master of the Mediterranean region with a strong maritime. Until finally in the Punic Wars III, the Roman Republic managed to destroy Carthage and destroying capital, making the Roman Republic as the ruler of the most powerful in the Mediterranean west. This battle was a turning point, which means that the civilization of the ancient Mediterranean will be the modern world through Europe, not through Africa. Roman victory against Carthage in this war to give Roman a superior status to the Roman division into East and West Rome by Diocletian in 286 AD
