JAKARTA - Pemerintah telah menyetujui pengadaan mobil murah dan ramah lingkungan atau low cost green car (LCGC) dengan ditandatanganinya Peraturan Pemerintah nomor 41 tahun 2013.

Menteri Koordinator Bidang Perekonomian Hatta Rajasa mengatakan, pengadaan mobil LCGC tersebut diizinkan karena tingkat konsumsi bahan bakarnya rendah dan dari sisi harga juga relatif lebih murah.

"LGCG mengkonsumsi bahan bakar yang rendah, apalagi mobil istrik, tidak menggunakan BBM sama sekali, jadi kita akan dapat benefit dari itu, kendaraan yang betul-betul low cost, konsumsinya murah harga mobilnya juga relatif murah." Ungkap Hatta di Kantornya, Jakarta baru-baru ini.

Diperkirakan mobil LGCG akan menambah kemacetan di Jakarta. Hatta mengakui hal tersebut, namun menurutnya hal itu tidak menjadi masalah sepanjang konsumsi BBM semakin rendah. Pasalnya, tingkat konsumsi bahan bakar mobil LGCG diperkirakan hanya 22 kilometer (km) per liter.

Hatta turut berharap ke depannya transportasi umum juga akan menjadi lebih baik sehingga bisa memberikan banyak pilihan kendaraan untuk masyarakat.

"Semakin baik transportasi umum semakin malas orang naik mobil pribadi. Pasti naik umum. Sepanjang udah bagus, ada MRT nanti, circle line commuter, monorail, khusus bukan hanya Jakarta tapi juga kota-kota besar," pungkas dia.

Lebih lanjut Hatta menambahkan transportasi Indonesia akan terus berkembang karena menurutnya pada tahun 2017-2018 masyarakat sudah bisa menggunakan MRT.
