Populasi yang terus menerus bertambah di Indonesia tentunya menyebabkan sebuah masalah. Pertama, menimbulkan masalah sosial ekonomi,Seperti meningkatnya angka pengangguran, karena pertumbuhan penduduk yang terus bertambah tidak diiringi dengan pertambahan lahan pekerjaan, lalu hal tersebut berpengaruh pula dalam peningkatan angka kemiskinan, karena tidak ada mata pencaharian yang dapat memenuhi kebutuhan hidup sehari – hari, serta dapat pula menyebabkan tingkat kriminalitas semakin meningkat, karena persaingan mendapatkan uang semakin tinggi, hal tersebut akan berdampak seseorang akan melakukan hal apa saja demi mendapatkan uang, baik itu dari mencuri ataupun perampokan. Kedua, menimbulkan masalah kesehatan, seperti tingkat penularan penyakit tinggi. Penyakit dapat menular dengan cepat karena adanya jarak tempat tinggal antar penduduk berdekatan. Ketiga, menimbulkan masalah lingkungan, seperti berkurangnya lahan hijau, karena lahan hijau akan dimanfaatkan untuk pemukiman atau pusat perekonomian. Lalu, sampah yang akan dihasilkan setiap harinya akan selalu bertambah, karena jika manusia menetap disuatu wilayah semakin banyak, maka akan banyak pula sampah yang dihasilkan.
