The Java deer (Rusa timorensis) in the Valley of the UNIVERSITY live in an environment that does not correspond to its natural habitat. The frequency of breath is one of the physiological parameters for the determination of the status of animal health. This research aims to know the frequency of the Java Deer Valley is breath of GADJAH MADA UNIVERSITY, Yogyakarta. The material used in this research is the Java Deer (Rusa timorensis) in the Valley of the UNIVERSITY as much as 10 tail deer's tail consists of 5 males and 5 females deer tail. Calculating the frequency of breath is done by looking at the movements of torako-abdominal for 1 minute and repeated 5 times in each period counting per individual. The calculation is done on the morning (08.00-09.00) and noon (12.00-14.00) for 4 days. Breath frequency data of the Java deer (Rusa timorensis) on the morning and afternoon are analyzed to obtain the frequency range of breath. Data on average frequency of breath in the morning and afternoon were analyzed using paired analysis of the simple test. The results tally frequency frequency data obtained breath breath in the morning ranged between 24-68 times per minute with an average of 42 times/min and at noon ranged between 64-142 times per minute with an average of 79 times/minute. Statistics shows the analysis results, there is a significant difference (P < 0,05) between the frequency of breath in the morning and the afternoon. Further research needs to be done with respect to the frequency of breath timorensis Rusa with different time period and number of samples more.
