Ketentuan dalam Jus in bello dijabarkan lagi dalam 2 (dua) ketentuan lagi, yakni:
1. Ketentuan megenai tata cara dilakukannya perang (conduct of war) dan alat-alat yang dibenarkan dipakai untuk berperang. Ketentuan ini secara umum disebut sebagai Hukum Den Haag atau The Hague Laws yang terdapat dalam Konvensi-konvensi Den Haag tahun 1907
2. Ketentuan yang mengatur tentang perlindungan terhadap orang-orang yang menjadi korban perang baik itu yang tergolong kombatan dan penduduk sipil. Ketentuan ini lazimnya dikenal sebagai Hukum Jenewa atau The Geneva Laws yang tercantum dalam Konvensi- konvensi Jenewa tahun 1949
