Korean netizens have found a lot of similarities between Kpop idol band BTS’s new song “DOPE” and an American rapper from Carol City, Flo Rida‘s “GDFR“.

A male kpop idol band by the name of Bangtan Boys has been caught in a plagiarism controversy over their new song, “DOP.” The music video of the title track was first revealed on YouTube, and some Youtubers noticed that it might be a plagiarized version of Flo Rida’s hit, “GDFR.” People found a similar sound and beats in the idol boys’ ‘DOPE’ MV with the band’s video clip. It looks like that the song rearranged and divided different parts of “GDFR”, but kept the overall melody and beat in tact.

Actually DOPE is a result of collaboration that was co-written by Slow Rabbit,Suga, J-Hope, among others. Members Suga, J-Hope, and Rap Monster also contributed to the composition of the song.

So it’s not surpassing if fans could find some similarities since so many hip hoppers has been affected by a master,Flo Rida, of hip hop industry. But we don’t know if it’s just coincidence or not, and it still remains open to question.
